The Metaphor of Living in a Box: Why it's Time to Break Out
Overcoming Societal Expectations and Embracing Authenticity for a More Fulfilling Life
We have all felt the confines of living in a box at some point in our lives. Whether it's being pressured to fit into certain societal expectations or being held back by limited opportunities, the idea of being restricted to a certain set of circumstances can be overwhelming. But it's important to remember that we always have the agency to break out of the box and pursue our own paths. In this blog post, we will discuss why it is time to break out of the metaphorical box and start living life to its fullest.
What Are the Boxes We Live In?
The boxes we live in are all the expectations and societal norms and the societal norms are far from normal that limit our potential and restrict our freedom to express ourselves. The expressions in today's world are oppressive label-making groups that keep you boxed in from your God-created unique self. These boxes can come in many forms, from oppressive systems of government and religious institutions to gender confusion, unresolved trauma, racial stereotypes, or simply the expectations of what we should or shouldn’t do but this conviction of right and wrong only comes through the freedom of Jesus. We may be told to pursue a certain career path, conform to certain ideas about beauty or relationships, or even just fit into a neat, narrow box of what our lives “should” look like.
Living within these boxes often leads us to feel disconnected from our true selves and makes it difficult to find our own unique purpose and passion in life. It stifles creativity and keeps us from exploring new paths and opportunities. And it can lead to feelings of helplessness and frustration as we struggle to break free. We evolved when creators continued to be themselves on social media but somewhere along the line that evolution became real people being their real selves got cast aside for groups with toxic ideologies and governmental propaganda. The biggest reason is so the mass can be divided and controlled by the ones who know if we were all free thinkers they would be serving us.
Why is it Time to Break Out?
There hasn't been a time in history where the boxes and manufactured labels need to be removed and free thinkers need to rise and take back what we were all created for. Freedom and truth with action. Positivity doesn't work if it just comes in a form of a post. It is just a clanging politician who makes all these promises but doesn't deliver anything but lies and propaganda. Action is required. The action takes effort. For the people that say they're too busy, well when your rights are completely stripped I'm sure you'll change your mind then and it'll be too late.
How Can We Break Out?
We can break out when love moves us to act with the truth. Truth comes with zero confusion and lies. Boldness and courage are at the forefront of change. The Bible says the truth shall set you free. Freedom goes back to the beginning. Roles are not boxes and don't need to hide. Roles are what create freedom. Roles are what create order. When the wrong people are in the wrong roles then boxes are created with labels to create control. Unnatural things must be wrapped up in conformity and comfort because the box feels so safe until it unmasked itself with confusion and lies. You're free when you realize that you don't need a box and that you were made in the image and likeness of God. Unique from the beginning.
